Default Hull vs Man UTD Week 37 EPL

Hull City's Premier League fate is in their own hands ahead of the visit of champions Manchester United, who may have other things on their mind.
Tigers boss Phil Brown knows victory for his side will secure Premier League football for a second year and compensate for a disappointing second half to the season.
Fanciful dreams of European football, sparked by City's rise to third spot in the early weeks of the campaign, have been replaced by the nightmarish prospect of a return to the Championship after one win in 21 matches.
However, the Tigers could be given a helping hand in their bid to pick up three points at the KC Stadium on Sunday, with United not expected to select their strongest team.
Much has been made over whether the title winners have a duty to Hull's relegation rivals to field their best line-up, but Sir Alex Ferguson can surely be forgiven for giving his key players a rest ahead of next Wednesday's UEFA Champions League final.
Ferguson's squad strength, though, will be in evidence and the Red Devils are certain to pick a team that is capable of doing themselves, and the Premier League, justice.
Tigers team news

Hull will be hoping to welcome back Kamil Zayatte and Bernard Mendy for the game as Brown's side seek a first Premier League home win since the 2-1 success over Middlesbrough in early December.
Zayatte missed last week's 1-1 draw at Bolton, which lifted the Tigers out of the bottom three, due to concussion suffered in the previous week's defeat by Stoke City.
Mendy sat out the game against his former club due to a toe injury, but both players have been wrapped in cotton wool and Brown hopes to have the duo available.
If Zayatte fails to overcome the effects of concussion, then Kevin Kilbane could again continue at centre-half, with Anthony Gardner still out with a back problem.
Midfield pair Ian Ashbee and Jimmy Bullard are long-term absentees, while Brown will have to make a change up front as on-loan striker Manucho is ineligible to face his parent club.
Caleb Folan is back from suspension, so could replace Manucho, although Craig Fagan and Daniel Cousin are other options for Brown.
United team news

United boss Ferguson is certain to make changes to his team, with the trip to Rome in mind, but Rio Ferdinand could feature.
Ferdinand has been struggling with a calf injury and has been challenged to prove his fitness against Hull to ensure he will be able to face Barcelona.
There have been claims that rookie keeper Ben Amos could start in goal, with Ferguson reluctant to risk Edwin van der Sar's understudy Tomasz Kuszczak following an injury to Ben Foster.
Kuszczak, however, is likely to start, while Brazilian twins Rafael and Fabio could be at full-back, with captain Gary Neville used at centre-half.
Darren Fletcher seems set to play due to the midfielder being suspended for the Champions League final, and the likes of Darron Gibson, Rodrigo Possebon and Nani could be involved.
Teenage duo Federico Macheda and Danny Welbeck are in contention for a starting role and Carlos Tevez could be handed a start for potentially his final Premier League appearance for the club.
Possible starting XIs

Hull City: Myhill, Ricketts, Turner, Zayatte, Dawson, Mendy, Barmby, Boateng, Kilbane, Geovanni, Cousin.
Man Utd: Kuszczak, Rafael, Neville, Ferdinand, Fabio, Welbeck, Fletcher, Gibson, Nani, Macheda, Tevez.

Hull escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth despite slumping to a 1-0 defeat against an under-strength Manchester United.Darron Gibson fired the only goal of a tense Barclays Premier League encounter at the KC Stadium with a stunning strike midway through the first half.

Yet with Newcastle losing at Aston Villa, the Tigers just managed to limp over the line to safety with 35 points.
United made 10 changes as Sir Alex Ferguson rested his biggest names ahead of the Champions League final on Wednesday but the final score meant there could be no complaints.
Their starting XI had an average age of just 23, a figure boosted by the return of veteran club captain Gary Neville, 34.
England defender Rio Ferdinand, hoping to prove his fitness to face Barcelona in Rome after a calf injury, failed to make the team.
Hull started brightly by winning two early corners and a long ball from Michael Turner put Craig Fagan in on goal but the forward could not control and Tomasz Kuszczak gathered.
Geovanni then broke clear down the left twice in quick succession but the Brazilian's first cross just evaded Fagan and Kuszczak punched his second clear.
Nani had United's first serious attempt from a free-kick 30 yards out but Boaz Myhill was not troubled.
Hull were almost caught on the counter-attack when a vicious low cross from Rafael da Silva almost found the onrushing Lee Martin.
United then struggled to clear a corner from Andy Dawson and the ball broke to Marney but his shot was easily saved by Kuszczak.
United stunned Hull by taking the lead in the 24th minute with a ferocious strike from Gibson.
The 21-year-old let fly from 25 yards with a powerful shot across goal that flew past Myhill into the top corner.
That goal put Hull into the bottom three, as things stood, and the Tigers needed to respond but Federico Macheda almost doubled their misery when he shot straight at Myhill.
United then began to dominate possession but Dawson did get forward to curl in a dangerous cross which Michael Turner headed over.
Hull were almost caught again after a strong run by Danny Welbeck but the 18-year-old striker dragged his shot wide.
Macheda then engineered another opportunity for himself but failed to hit the target and Hull had a chance when Geovanni blasted a free-kick over.
Geovanni then turned provider to tee up a shooting chance for Dawson but Kuszczak tipped over the left-back's piledriver.
The atmosphere intensified considerably before the break as news filtered through of goals being scored against relegation rivals Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
Hull had a good chance early in the second half when Kevin Kilbane's cross picked out Nick Barmby but the former England international failed to make firm contact and Kuszczak tipped wide.
Gibson tried his luck again from distance just before the hour but this time his effort sailed well over the bar.
Hull boss Phil Brown replaced the creative talents of Geovanni, his top scorer, with a target man in Caleb Folan but nerves were affecting the Tigers' play.
Hull failed to make the most of their possession with Richard Garcia letting himself down after a good break with a poor ball for Folan.
Gibson conceded a free-kick for handball on the edge of the area but Dawson curled his shot straight at Kuszczak.
United countered and Macheda again had a chance to double the lead but shot wide.
Fagan attempted a spectacular volley after a long Sam Ricketts throw into the area but was well off target.
Turner got his head to another Ricketts throw but his looping effort was clawed out from under the bar by Kuszczak.
The closing minutes were tense with City trailing but knowing a goal for Newcastle at Villa Park could relegate them.
Nani almost put them further behind with a powerful shot four minutes from time but Myhill pushed the ball wide.
Hull struggled to get the ball in injury time and they had a nervous few seconds' wait after the final whistle before their survival was confirmed.
Many fans invaded the pitch when the news was confirmed despite the efforts of police to contain them.
Brown sings Tigers praisesAfter the match delighted Hull boss Phil Brown led the celebrations. Brown went onto the pitch and sang a rendition of the supporters' "This is the best trip I've ever been on" refrain before inviting his players to embark on a lap of honour.Brown said: "I think everyone has expected us this season to be one of the bottom three and I think we have proved a lot of people wrong."How we have done it has been different - especially after those first nine games."It wasn't about the one today but the 37 before that and I don't think anyone can have any complaints."We got to where we got to with sheer guts, determination, drive - all of the things that have been questioned at times."Hull were beaten by a stunning strike from United youngster Darron Gibson, who fired home from distance midway through the first half. That goal put Hull into the relegation zone, as things stood, but the mood lifted before half-time as news of a Villa goal filtered through.Hull then had to battle through a nervy second half and despite failing to improve their own situation, the news from elsewhere remained good.Brown added: "It was at times unbearable because 1-0 is such an important scoreline. It can win and lose you games but you are never out of the game."With both games being 1-0 I was looking at Ian Ashbee and Jimmy Bullard behind the dug-out, both with telephones."Did we have to score a goal or could we afford to lose 1-0? That was a negative vibe I'm not used to - but it was enough."The demise of Newcastle and the future of manager Alan Shearer is now likely to dominate the headlines.Brown added: "I have empathy as opposed to sympathy with any manager that gets relegated."It went to the wire and he gave it his best shot and unfortunately they failed."In just over two years in charge at Hull, Brown has now successfully avoided relegation from the Championship, won promotion to the Premier League and kept them there. He added: "It's the best day of my career as a player, a coach and a manager - even greater than beating Bristol City at Wembley, by a long way."Brown now intends to enjoy his 50th birthday next week but admits his recent comment that he would celebrate by riding a Harley Davidson across the south of France was tongue in cheek. He added: "That was just a bit of fun at the time! I'm going away with my family to relax, but it won't be for too long."We're now in a race with 19 other teams to sign players to improve us again."As for his singing, he had no regrets. He added: "I enjoyed that at the end - it was nice to see all the fans in the stadium."
