having grown up in the 70s and 80s, I love to see the predicament this lot are in. Dumped out of the FA cup last night by lowly Reading, an early CL exit. their season relies solely upon being the inaugural winners of the also-ran's Europa cup. To be honest, they'll get dumped out of that.
I read in a paper yesterday, Tom Hicks senior saying that Liverpool were in a better position both financially and generally compared to MUFC. What a joke, this statement was released only a couple of hours after his son had no other choice to resign from the board after sending a fan an inappropriate email. This is a club that is in decline. All they have is old silverware now, going a touch green, and their memories. Just look at that famous image from years and years ago, of that dipper fan holding the card saying 'come back when you've won 18'. Oh how the times have changed. The fans now have unrealistic expectations, and we all know a dipper that will spout the same nonsense every summer giving it 'This season we'll win it'. I have no pity for their decline, and long may it continue and worsen. As long as the yanks own the club and Rafa is at the helm, this lot will continue to sink. Discuss. |

Funny how they seem to have gone off Hicks and Gilette after they welcomed them in with an open arsehole. Cunts.

This shower of shite are taking a real gamble with going ahead with the proposed new multi-million stadium at Stanley Park. Similarly to Utd (I refuse to refer to this great club as Manu!), the dippers will have to remorgage the club and its assets to finance the whole venture. The difference being that the scum do not have the same finacial turnover/revenue as us, and therefore will not have the same ability to manage the debt.
Failure to qualify for this seasons CL will throw the club into even deeper turmoil. Years ago, when the Moores family owned Liverpool, this would never had happened. To a degree they ran the club a bit like Arsenal do. Clear ceiling were put in place on areas such as transfers, wages, projects etc. Love the Moores family or loathe them, at least they were realists. That realism proved to be successful. Just ask yourself, what exactly have Hicks and Gillete done for the club? Apart from get them several 100m into serious debt and derail the chances of any success for at least the forseeable future. I would like to buy these guys a pint. |
